a Career You Love

Learn exactly how to pinpoint what’s missing from your work life - and gain the clarity and the confidence you need to take action and design what comes next in your career.

It's time to bring your work into alignment with your most authentic goals and desires!

You’re a woman in mid-career…
...who’s always worked hard at your job and achieved a certain level of success.

You’ve done all the right things, made all the right moves, and consistently pushed yourself to be the best you can be.

And while everything looks great from the outside (you may even have the “great job” to prove it!)...

...you have to admit that something on the inside feels off.

You’re struggling to find meaning in what you’re doing…

You often feel stuck and disconnected from your work and/or those around you…

And you constantly feel pressure to live up to expectations — both your own as well as those of others.

You’ve been pushing down the feeling that something needs to change…

...because, quite frankly, it’s scary.

You’ve always been a person who’s played by the rules, and this push toward change feels reckless.

You’ve spent so much time building your career, your family, and your LIFE that to change anything — even slightly — feels like the whole thing could come tumbling down.

Yet you can’t deny or avoid any longer that your work and your life aren’t aligned…

...and that something really important is missing.

Yet you can’t deny or avoid any longer that your work and your life aren’t aligned…

...and that something really important is missing.

The pain of that void has begun to affect you too much, and there’s a deep internal pull to fill it.

Yet without the guidance and the framework to help you find — and then navigate — the change or transition that needs to happen, you keep plugging along, going about life as usual, while feeling unfulfilled, confused, restless, and alone.

there’s a deep internal pull to fill it.

Yet without the guidance and the framework to help you find — and then navigate — the change or transition that needs to happen, you keep plugging along, going about life as usual, while feeling unfulfilled, confused, restless, and alone.

Hear this, my friend: you’re not alone.

It’s extremely common for women to get to a place in mid-career where they look up from all the hard work and striving they’ve done this far in their lives — building careers, getting degrees, raising families, and a million other things — and realize that something feels off.

They think, “I should feel so happy — I’ve got everything I thought I wanted.”...

...and are confused and disheartened to find out they’re still not satisfied.

They’re unfulfilled and searching for meaning — and simply feel stuck.

Add to that all of the work and effort it took to get to this point — as well as all of the people involved, the opportunity cost, and what other people will think — that it seems impossible to make a change now.

But the truth is: you CAN…
...and, arguably, you SHOULD.

There’s never been a more important time to bring your work life into alignment with the way that you truly want to live, work, and be in the world than RIGHT NOW.

In fact, this is a unique time in history – one where MILLIONS of workers, from frontline employees to senior executives, are voluntarily reevaluating their jobs and reimagining their careers.

This is especially true for women who’ve spent the past two years navigating work from home, quarantine and lockdowns, home schooling children, and the emotional labor of keeping it all together – all during a once-in-a-lifetime global crisis.

Taken together, all this means that the acute feeling of “something’s missing” in your work life doesn’t mean that you’ve done anything wrong…

...it just means that YOU are deeply yearning to bring your work into better alignment with your values and priorities.

Here’s the good news…
...you CAN do just that.

...and you can do it through a unique and systematic framework that will help you design a work life that will bring you higher levels of fulfillment.

The framework is based on Design Thinking — an approach to solving problems that prioritizes understanding and designing for real human needs – including, and especially, your own (novel concept, right?!).

It’s a process that relies on observing, with empathy, how you’re interacting with your environment, and then employs an iterative, hands-on approach to create innovative solutions.

Design Thinking is typically used in companies and organizations…

...but the very same principles can be just as effective when applied to individuals, especially individuals who thrive on a step-by-step process to help them pinpoint that often nebulous feeling of “something’s missing”.

It’s also perfect for individuals who are at a point in their lives and careers that they can open their mind to three key things:

01

That you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole

Believing this to be true for yourself and others increases your sense of agency, empowerment, and responsibility. And it helps you trust that you already have the inner and outer resources necessary to create the change you’re wishing for.

02

That you’re always in “beta”

You have come to accept that there is no "arrival point" for your life or career, and that you’re in perpetual test mode – always learning, iterating, and continuing.

03

That it’s important to focus on the whole you

Your work life is an interconnected part of your whole life. You’re ready to design your work in a way that works for your whole self — not just the version of you from 9-5.
When you accept these three concepts to be true — and you pair them with a revolutionary framework that is based on Design Thinking — you’ve got everything you need to identify what needs to change in your work life to bring it into greater alignment with how you truly want to live…

...to identify creative solutions for how to achieve it…

...and to create a plan to TAKE ACTION and bring it to being.

I know it may seem impossible to imagine finally feeling the sense of peace, fulfillment, and meaning that you have been yearning for so long…

...but it’s absolutely possible (and just as rewarding as you hope it will be!).

I know this to be true because not only have I coached countless women on how to design a work life that truly lights them up — but I’ve also used this exact Design Thinking framework on myself…

...to bring my own life into better balance and alignment and create a work life that I love.

And now, I can’t wait to help you do the same.

Hi, I’m

Ashley Jablow

Coach, facilitator, and designer with a passion for helping people and teams create a work life they love.

Hi, I’m

Ashley Jablow

Coach, facilitator, and designer with a passion for helping people and teams create a work life they love.
I got my start in the world of design and innovation working for IDEO — one of the premier Design Thinking firms in the world.

At IDEO I learned to use Design Thinking to tackle all sorts of creative challenges — from reimagining social impact programs to designing virtual communities at scale. Four years later, I was selected to join the Obama Administration as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow, where I spent every day bringing Design Thinking methods and mindsets into federal agencies to help them better serve our country.

It was there that I started working with my own coach. That’s because no matter how much I achieved or the job title I landed, I kept feeling unfulfilled and mis-aligned. Working with my coach, I landed my dream job.... and 10 months later I unexpectedly got laid off.

I’d never been unemployed like that before, and my desire to get out of that situation was urgent. I wasn’t sure what to do — until I remembered that I had all the tools I needed in my own Design Thinking toolkit.

These tools are what helped me make the decision to train as a Co-Active coach with the Co-Active Training Institute. They’re what inspired me to continue teaching and training thousands of Design Thinking practitioners through my work with LUMA Institute and IDEO U.

And they’re what led me to found Wayfinders Collective — a coaching and consulting business that helps people get clear on their goals and take
action to achieve them – whether that’s designing new programs and experiences, or even their careers and lives.

My mission now is to help mid-career women – who have played by all the rules, done all the right things, and did everything they thought was expected of them – to find more meaning and fulfillment in their work and their lives.

I know the heavy feeling that you’re carrying right now and the voice in your head that wonders how on Earth you’ll be able to shift your life in a way that can make any significant impact. I experienced that same feeling and voice, too.

But after confronting those feelings and using my own Design Thinking skills to redesign my career, I learned this to be true: you don’t have to settle for work that is unfulfilling. Your work CAN be fun, creative, purposeful, and full of meaning.

It’s a gift that’s not just available to some of us — it’s available to ALL of us.

To be clear, there is no quick fix. It’s a lifelong journey. But you can align your work with what you truly care about and want for your life.

If you’re looking to get unstuck, and to bring more balance, purpose and impact into your work life and your real life, I’m excited to show you how.

Module Three

Three: Discover Yourself — Values in Harmony

In Module Three, you’ll dive into one of the most critical components of Design Thinking: research. This time, the subject of your research is YOU – in particular, your values. We’ll start by using our calendars to discover the connection between how we spend our time and how we live our lives. Then, we’ll tap into other forms of intelligence about ourselves to better understand what it looks like, and feels like, to live in harmony with our values.
In this module we’ll use the following exercises:
  • Calendar Audit Worksheet where you’ll look at your current schedule and start exploring what activities, commitments and relationships bring you a feeling of harmony – and which don’t
  • Values in Harmony Exercise to explore the core values that feel most relevant for your focus area. Using the prompts provided, you’ll deepen your understanding of when you experience resonance or dissonance between your values and the world around you – and learn what to do to bring your values back into harmony with your life.

In Module Four, you’ll go deeper into yourself and connect with your Inner Critic. You’ll uncover the origin of this critical voice and explore the connection between how you speak to yourself and the everyday reality you experience. You’ll examine your inner thoughts and inspect them to determine the truth behind them. And you’ll learn the difference between judgment and discernment as a key towards appreciating where you are now, while still holding goals for your future.
In this module we’ll use the following exercise:
  • Inner Critic Inventory Reflections where you’ll take an inventory of your “negative self-talk” and discover the deeper story behind it

In Module Five, we’ll spend time getting clear on “the good, the bad and the opportunity” when it comes to your focus area and the change you’re looking to make. To do that, we’ll use some of my favorite Design Thinking methods to help you turn what’s currently a problem to solve, into an opportunity to design for.
In this module we’ll use the following exercises:
  • I Like/Worry/Wish Worksheet to convert your thoughts and feelings about your focus area into data that can be sorted and solved for
  • Finding Patterns in the Data Exercise to help you synthesize your likes, worries and wishes, and find patterns and opportunities for the future
  • "How Might I" Worksheet that will teach you how to reframe your perspective of what’s possible for your focus area, and ask more powerful, generative questions to guide the action you take

Module Seven

Iterate — Prototype Your Way to What Comes Next

The Iterate phase is all about creating something small that we can try out, learn from, and refine as we go. Working iteratively begins with adopting a prototyping mindset. This way of thinking and working will save you time and heartache, while lowering the risks and reducing the pressure you feel to get your solution “right” on the very first try. In Module Seven, we’ll define what a prototyping mindset is, and how to help you shift into it for yourself. Then, you’ll create a Prototype Test Plan that you’ll use to actually trial an idea for your focus area.
In this module we’ll use the following exercises:
  • Adopting a Prototyping Mindset primer to help you get into the right head and heart space for prototyping
  • Prototype Test Plan Worksheet where you’ll review the solutions you’ve brainstormed, select one of them to prototype, and devise your plan to test it

Module Eight

Always Iterating — Our Stories

Throughout this program you’ve learned about yourself, you’ve defined the opportunity and imagined new possibilities, and you’ve started to prototype ideas for what comes next. The final piece is taking everything you’ve learned and tried, and turning it into a compelling story of YOU that moves people to action. After all, whether you’re trying to land a new job, pitch a new venture, or get your partner’s buy-in for the change you’re working toward – it’s the picture you paint that will get people to say YES.
In this module we’ll use the following exercises:
  • Define Your Value Pyramid to help you name your core skills and talents and value.
  • The Story of You Worksheet to draft the next iteration of your own story: something you can take out into the world and share with others as you move towards what comes next for you in your career and life
  • Revisiting Your Commitment Reflection where you’ll look back on your goals for the program and see how far you’ve come

Testimonials

“This is an exceptional program and Ashley is a brilliant coach who will guide you on the path of self discovery. You have to be ready, willing and able to do the work, but I promise you, if you are ready, this course is amazing.”
“The opportunity to reflect on my own journey and grow alongside a group of women that I would not have otherwise met was an unexpected gift. Ashley is a gifted facilitator in her ability to weave together each participant's contributions in a way that creates a cohesive and amplified experience for the group.”
“Don’t work with Ashley if you want to get a job - work with Ashley if you want to get a life. Her targeted but heartfelt approach helped me answer the big questions: what are my values and purpose? How do I align my work to honor my deepest intentions? She became a critical ally in helping me build trust to navigate a career pivot. Her unique blend of intuition, compassionate accountability, and creative homework exercises helped me uncover truths about my life's path that I had long forgotten. Thank you, Ashley!"
“Ashley was a critical resource during an important job transition. She helped me identify and articulate my values, my strengths, and my subsequent job searching approach. More than that, she provided me with the tools I needed to show up the way I wanted to in all aspects of my life. Over six months, Ashley helped me move from a place of anxiety and apathy to one of curiosity and confidence. I couldn’t be more grateful for Ashley’s guidance and empathetic ear - it has been invaluable!”
“Before coaching I felt stuck. I wanted a change but I didn’t know what the change was and how to articulate what I wanted. Working with Ashley gave me the confidence, framework, opportunity, and accountability to self-reflect and take steps to move forward. I appreciated her approach to push me out of my comfort zone while always knowing she was there to support me. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs support in their career.”
“Working with Ashley has been life changing. Her approach was uniquely tailored to exactly what I needed. She challenged me, encouraged me, inspired me, believed in me, and pushed me to ask and answer the hard questions at the core of who I am and how I want to show up in the world. Ashley is sharp, empathetic, and friendly, and makes the conversations flow easily. She is thoughtful in designing her activities and steering the coaching engagement in the direction most helpful to you. I would highly recommend working with her if you’re looking for someone to hear you and see you, and bring out whatever you need within yourself to get where you want to go in your life.”
